Guidance Department
The Guidance Department of St. Augustine High School serves as an
Educational Resource Center, addressing the various, educational, social,
and medical needs of our diverse student population. Interactions between
students and their individual grade level counselors promote accurate and
attainable student goal setting. Continuous monitoring student schedules,
grades, standardized test scores, and extracurricular activities assist
counselors when advising students on the best possible college / career
choices. The primary concentration of the Guidance Department promotes
student productivity, empowerment, and transformation. An array of
motivation techniques are utilized to ensure the development of
well-rounded, competent African-American males characteristically found
among the proud alumni of the Purple Knight Tradition.
